Getting started

Your first analysis.

From new account to first read — under 30 seconds.

1. Sign up

Click Get Started in the top nav (or go to /login). Continue with Google or a magic-link email. There’s no card on signup — every account begins on the Free plan with one analysis per day. You can upgrade any time.

2. Pick a ticker

Open the dashboard and start typing a symbol — NVDA, AAPL, BHP.AX,BTC-USD. The autocomplete pulls from EODHD across US/ASX/LSE/TSX, plus Massive Markets for US, plus Yahoo Finance as a fallback. If your ticker has at least 30 bars of history, tradr can read it.

3. Pick a timeframe and a lens

  • Timeframe — daily for swing traders, hourly for active traders, 15-minute for intraday.
  • Lens — Standard is balanced; Momentum is trend-friendly; Mean-reversion fades extremes; Conservative only flags textbook setups.

Both choices change the prompt sent to Claude, so the same ticker can produce four different reads depending on lens. We recommend Standard at first, Conservative if you only want clean A+ setups.

4. Analyse

Hit Analyse. Behind the scenes tradr fetches OHLCV bars, computes indicators (RSI, MACD, EMAs, Bollinger, ATR, swing points), pulls fundamentals where available, and sends the snapshot to Claude with a strict JSON schema. You get the result in 5–15 seconds.

5. Read the output

Every analysis returns:

  • Plain English summary — what’s happening, what the setup suggests, what to watch for.
  • Setup, Bias, Confidence — quick chips at the top.
  • Entry, Stop, Targets, R:R — the actual levels to plan your trade around.
  • Rationale, Bull/Bear cases, Invalidation — the reasoning, the alternative paths, and what kills the thesis.
  • Indicators with gauges — click any row to see what each indicator means and where the current reading sits on its scale.
Pro tip. Save the analysis to your watchlist. Then set a trigger so we email or push-notify you the second the setup matures.

6. Save it

  1. Click Save to watchlist on the analysis card.
  2. Open Dashboard → Alerts and turn on browser push (free, takes 5 seconds).
  3. Pick a trigger — “confidence ≥ 4” for high-quality only, or “any setup” for everything.

From now on, tradr re-checks that ticker on cron during US market hours and pings you when it triggers. Cooldown is 4 hours per ticker to avoid notification spam.

That’s the loop

Analyse → save → get pinged → act when it triggers. Most users run 5–25 tickers in their watchlist and let the cron do the heavy lifting.
